The first visit to Magy’s Farm of the trio of the outstanding New York pianist Jim Ridl. A swinging, inventive pianist, Jim is renowned for the colour and breadth of his pianism and the brilliance of his compositions. Jim is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger and performs internationally with the Jim Ridl Trio and Quartet, the Dave Liebman Big Band, and the Mingus Big Band. Jim’s tenure with jazz guitar legend Pat Martino received many critically acclaimed reviews of performances around the world and produced three outstanding recordings: Interchange, Night Wings and The Maker.
He will be joined by bassist Ronan Guilfoyle and drummer Stephen Keogh, two Irish jazz musicians who also have international careers and reputations. They have played together extensively during the 1980s in Ireland, and internationally, with artists such as Simon Nabatov, Alan Skidmore, Sonny Fortune, Richie Beirach and Dave Liebman.
