Commissioned by Roscommon County Council and the Boyle Arts Festival, Rath Crúachan is a new suite in five movements, each representing an aspect of Roscommon history, (particularly its ancient history), and geography, with the interaction between the players mirroring the interaction between that history and geography. A jazz-oriented suite, but featuring classical piano, in a central role, along with clarinet and electric guitar; there are improvised sections for the two jazz musicians, which allows them to interact spontaneously with the drama of the piano part.
